Important Notice: Use of Overlay Gauges
We are issuing an urgent notice regarding the use of overlay gauges during scoring and checking.
Following recent checks, it has been confirmed that the 50m overlay gauge must not be used. This overlay has been found to be unreliable and should be avoided with immediate effect to prevent inaccuracies or inconsistencies.
Instead, officials and scorers should continue to use the standard .22 overlay gauge, which has been confirmed as accurate and fit for purpose. This overlay provides the correct level of reliability and should be used wherever an overlay gauge is required.
We would like to reassure members, competitors, and officials that all other overlay gauges have been fully checked and are confirmed to be correct. These gauges remain approved for use and can continue to be used with confidence.
Accuracy and consistency are essential to fair competition, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in following this guidance. Please ensure that this information is shared with relevant officials, range staff, and volunteers to avoid any confusion.
We are trying to source a new batch of overlay gauges that meet our required tolerance levels and will share any updates when we have them. If you have any questions or require clarification, please contact competitions@nsra.co.uk
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
