Sharing Some Sad News
We are deeply saddened this morning, to hear of the loss of a stalwart of the Devon target shooting community, Mog Thomson. An incredibly talented shooter, she was also an avid writer for On Target, where Mog shared her life-long passion for target shooting in the Spring 2025 edition of our magazine, which you can read about here.
She also enjoyed writing about the ongoing improvements to Melbury Ranges. As organiser for the magazine, I remember an email conversation where she shared her excitement about the conversion of the stone barn to the new clubhouse, which was due to finish in April. Her passing is a sad loss to all at Bideford Target Shooting Club and to the target shooting community as a whole.
Our thoughts are with her husband, family, friends, and everyone at Bideford’s Melbury Ranges during this difficult time.
Funeral Details Update
The funeral is Monday 22nd June 2026 at 11:30 am North Devon Crematorium, Rowan Chapel, Old Torrington Rd, Barnstaple, EX31 3NW.
The Wake is at The Park Hotel, Taw Vale, Barnstaple, EX32 9AE. at 1 p.m.

Mog has requested no mournful dark clothing and plenty of flowers.
Any flowers to go to the Funeral directors direct, not to the crematorium.
