In memory of Mark Parry
It is with great sadness, that we have been asked to make the following announcement by the family of Mark Parry – X Class.
After a short battle with cancer, Mark sadly passed away peacefully earlier this morning with his family at his side in hospital.
Despite his best efforts, Mark wasn’t able to attend Bisley 2025 due to his illness and his close friends who attended the Meeting were overcome by the number of well-wishers and messages which they received for Mark. They were able to convey these messages to him last night, so he knew that he was loved and being missed by everyone at the National Meeting.
Mark was a larger than life character known by many on the Firing Point and was loved by all. He had a huge heart and a generosity of spirt and gave freely of his time to others.
Mark had an exemplary shooting career in Small Bore Rifle – having shot in X Class for many years, making the Roberts Final regularly, he shot for his Country (Wales) , and for both The Dewar and Wakefield Teams as well as being a CSF Gold Medallist.
Mark devoted a lot of his time to coaching others in the sport, and was a County Coach, A North West Regional Squad Coach and a part time Coach at Ellesmere College, as well as having several long standing athletes under his wing.
Please join us in extending our sincere condolences and to Mark’s family and close friends.
Mark, your enthusiasm for the sport we all love will be greatly missed and your loss is ours also.
Mark’s funeral will take place at noon on the 10th September 2025 at Wrexham Crematorium, and there will be a celebration of Marks life afterwards at Wrexham War Memorial Club to which all are invited. The family have asked for no flowers to be sent, and instead that a donation is made to either Cancer UK or The Hope House Hospice.
