NSRA Aldersley Update - Part 2

In the final update of 2024, Steph covers all the events, news and updates plus plans for early 2025.

Ginny Thrasher’s Training Camps and Seminar

It was great to welcome the 2016 Rio Olympics Air Rifle champion, Ginny Thrasher, to NSRA Aldersley for the first UK hosted precision air rifle clinics and coaching seminars during mid-November.

These highly anticipated training camps and seminar did not disappoint with some great feedback from all who attended. Ginny’s events have amassed global popularity and it was truly an honour to be the first UK location to host them!

NSRA Aldersley Round-up

NSRA Aldersley have had a busy quarter hosting various events and competitions including the NSRA Eley Finals and the British Air Series Round One.

British Shooting’s Air Series 1

Every other Tuesday Aldersley welcomes Eye Can who offer coaching to the Visually Impaired who want to shoot, in late October Eye Can were pleased to welcome along World Champion Visually Impaired shooter Michael Whapples to share his knowledge and experience with their shooters. This session was well attended by many. If you or someone you know is visually impaired and would like to know more about getting into shooting, please contact Meena at Eye Can on mkrattu@hotmail.co.uk

Winter is set to be just as busy! Alongside the very sociable Over 50’s community group and the Tuesday afternoon VI sessions, the Centre will be hosting British Shooting’s Air Series Round 3 & the Geoff Partridge Memorial Trophy on the 25th and 26th January.
The Shropshire Scout Championships makes a welcomed return along with the Sutton Coldfield Scout District and the Dwarf Sport Associations for their own competitions.

As a British Shooting Elite Training Centre, we will have regular visits from their pathway squads for both pistol and rifle along with a ParaProject training camp. Our arrangement with British Shooting now means that Meyton electric targets are available for use by centre visitors of a consistent shooting standard (please contact the centre for further information).

If you are interested in holding your event at NSRA Aldersley, please contact Paul Horbury on paul.horbury@nsra.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
