British Open Air-Gun Championships Roundup

We had a great time at the British Open Air-Gun Championships (BOAG) 2025 on 20 – 23 February and the new format was enjoyed by all who attended.

There were some exceptionally close finals, where places changed hands at each round, keeping supporters on the edge of their seats!  Morgan Baker commented on winning the British Open Women’s 10m Air Rifle Championship:

“Was definitely a heart rate riser of a final and to come out victorious is such a good feeling. My first ever finals Gold!”

We also took some time out at the end of the day on Saturday to present our event’s Equipment Control Officer and ISSF Jury, James Marsh Brown with the NSRA Gold Award for Services to Shooting.  Mike Arnstein gave a lovely speech, celebrating James and all the fabulous work he has done, surrounded by members of the airgun community.  Congratulations James!

We’d like to convey our thanks to the British Pistol Club who hosted the Match Manager live results for us this year as we were unable due to some infrastructure changes.  We’ll endeavour to have this configured and back in-house for 2026.

We’d also like to thank Jane Newing who gave a large amount of her time and did a wonderful job setting up Match Manager and running it throughout the event, keeping it in top form.  It was a lot of work and we really appreciate it, thank you!

We’d like to thank all our fabulous volunteers who have been so helpful and understanding with the new format and the longer running period.

A special thanks to the Welsh Target Shooting Federation for the set up and running of the Finals.  BOAG could not run without you and we deeply appreciate your assistance.

You’ll find some of the results (we’re working on the full results and prize list for the website now, they should be available in the next few weeks) and photos here https://www.nsra.co.uk/boag-competition and a full report in the Spring Edition of On Target, due early April!
