BOAG 2027 Announcement

The British Open Air-Gun Championship (BOAG) 2027 will take place from 18 to 21 February 2027, with the Sporter portion taking place the 27 and 28 February 2027. Several changes have been introduced for this year's event, and these are outlined below. Entries will open on 15 October 2026 and close 15 December 2026.

Sporter

Sporter is scheduled to be the 27 and 28 February 2027. If entries are low we may change this to be just on the 27th, we will let entrants know as soon as we can once entries close if this is the case.

BOAG Training

This year, two training sessions will be available on the afternoon of Thursday 18 February. Each session will last one hour and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis through the online entry form.

  • Session 1: 13:00

  • Session 2: 14:30

Competitors must be entered into a BOAG competition to be eligible for free training. Those not entered into any BOAG competition will be charged £10.00 for participation.

British Championship Days

To improve scheduling, all Air Pistol British Championship events, including both qualification and finals, will take place on Friday 19 February. All Air Rifle British Championship events, including qualification and finals, will take place on Sunday 21 February.

Please note that in 2028, these days will be reversed, with Air Rifle taking place on Friday and Air Pistol on Sunday.

British Championship finals will be held for the following categories: ‍

  • Senior Men ‍

  • Senior Women

  • Junior Men

  • Junior Women

Aggregate

Following competitor feedback received over recent years, Saturday 20 February will be primarily dedicated to Aggregate 2.

Although a limited number of Aggregate 2 details will be available on Friday and Sunday, Saturday will offer the majority of shooting opportunities. The online entry form specifies the number of available places for each detail. Competitors should ensure they select only one option when making their entry.

Disabled Prone

Based on competitor feedback, an additional Disabled Prone shoot has been added on Friday. Disabled Prone events will therefore take place on both Friday and Saturday, with scores from both shoots combined to produce the aggregate result.

Competitors may now enter Disabled Prone only, without also entering the WSPS Air Rifle competition.

Those wishing to enter both WSPS Air Rifle and Disabled Prone can request a promotional code that will provide free entry to the Disabled Prone competition.

ISSF Rules

BOAG 2027 will be conducted under the ISSF rules introduced in 2026.

‍Competitors whose equipment does not pass equipment control will still be permitted to compete in the NSRA competitions (Aggregate 1 and Aggregate 2). However, they will not be eligible to progress to a British Championship final.

125 Years Celebrations

As part of the final celebrations marking 125 years of the NSRA, a Mixed Rifle and Pistol Pairs Competition has been introduced.

The competition will be shot concurrently with the relevant British Championship event. Teams must consist of:

  • One Air Rifle competitor

  • One Air Pistol competitor

‍Both competitors must be members of the same club.
