The 2022 Postal competitions are up and running and the Competitions Team have been working hard to bring normality back to the programme of events on offer. This includes training new staff, running the current competitions and distributing the most recent prizes.
However, due to the issues created by Covid, a backlog of results, medals and awards has accrued. In order to maintain the current programme of events most efficiently, we have taken the decision that the department will concentrate on the current competitions from Summer 2021 forward. The backlog prior to Summer 2021 will be dealt with, but we would ask for your tolerance as it is not currently being prioritised. Please don't contact the department about these awards - we will work to reduce this backlog and are looking at ways to direct extra resource to it if possible.
During the next few weeks, we will be undertaking some long-planned work to improve customer service and the overall shopping experience in the NSRA Shop at Bisley. This will include a stock take, implementing new stock control processes, a refurbishment and store merchandising. Consequently, the NSRA Shop will close at 16.00 on Friday 23rd December and re-open at 09.00 Saturday 14th January. Any online orders placed will be processed from 5th January onwards following the stock take.
We would also like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
BOAG 2023 will run on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2023, with Equipment Control open for the late afternoon of Friday 24th February.
Entries for the British Open Airgun Meeting 2023 are now closed. If you have entered we look forward to seeing you in February.
The Dewar Team Captain is inviting expressions of interest for the GB Dewar Team Adjutant role, to be submitted using this on-line form. It is expected the Adjutant will be appointed by the NSRA Rifle Committee before the end of 2022. The Dewar Team Captain, Paul Duxbury, is happy to receive any questions from potential applicants through this email address:
The Dewar Match is an annual postal smallbore prone rifle competition. Australia, Canada, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), Great Britain, New Zealand, South Africa, and the USA have, at some point, competed for the Dewar Trophy. Each team has 20 shooters, two reserves and officials.
Quite a number of people have been in touch with the Competitions Department regarding the results of “No Scores Received” (NSR) being posted on the NSRA Online Results Portal. This is despite the fact they have shot their cards in time and posted them off before the due date.
We are aware of post taking up to three weeks to reach its destination, due to the ongoing issues with the Postal Service compounded by the additional post created by the holiday season.
So long as cards are shot and sent in time, once the scorers receive the cards they will upload the scores as quickly as possible. After a reasonable period of time (say February) should any early rounds still be showing as NSR and, on investigation, they have actually been lost, then reshoots will be organised in the usual way.
In the interim we would ask for your patience but also please refrain from contacting the Competitions Department on this issue as the postal strikes are out of our control. We will however endeavour to process the results received as quickly as possible.
Entries for the National Indoor Shooting Centre Championship, Open and Geoff Partridge Memorial Trophy 2023 (Held at NSRA Aldersley, Wolverhampton) are currently open.
