Due to upgrades to the payment gateway on the NSRA's shop website, the service will be unavailable for 48 hours.
Apologies for the inconvenience whilst this work goes ahead.
We are very keen to deliver value to our members, and to increase efficiency, and so the way that the NSRA shop operates, is being changed starting from 1st January 2024.
We have two outlets, one at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley and the other at NSRA Aldersley in Wolverhampton.
Going forward, the Bisley outlet will now focus on shooting essentials, such as targets and ammunition. These will be sold via the reception at LRC. When competitions and events are taking place at Bisley, a bigger shop presence will be set up to service shooters needs. The primary sales of shooting equipment, together with targets and ammunition, will move to Aldersley. The internet sales will continue, and these will also be serviced via Aldersley.
Club Secretaries, have you reviewed your DBS Checks lately?
As the New Year approaches it might be a good time to check they are all up to date.
DBS Checks are needed for your Welfare / Child Protection Officer, regular volunteers and anyone who is qualified at Club Instructor level or higher. These checks should be re-done every 5 years as a minimum and must be done through the NSRA, you can not use a DBS Check from another source.
To get yours renewed, send a request via email to

The Gehmann Zero Magnification Dioptre has been passed for use by the ISSF. However, although these are used to correct vision problems, they do not constitute a single corrective lens under NSRA rules and therefore cannot be used in conjunction with an Eagle Eye.
NSRA Rules say:
8.4.3 A lens may be used attached to or forming part of the foresight………………………… The lens may not be used in addition to any other lens or system of lenses except a single prescribed sight-correction lens. The sight-correction lens may be either attached to the rearsight or worn by the shooter.
184.108.40.206 Aperture. A rearsight, including tube sights, which may, if so desired, have attached a single lens or system of lenses not containing an aiming point as a substitute for, or in addition to, prescribed spectacles.
The Gehmann Zero Magnification Dioptre isn’t a single, prescribed sight correction lens. It’s an adjustable, off the shelf, sight correction, multiple lens system and so would not be allowed in conjunction with an Eagle Eye.
It can, however, be used with a foresight that doesn’t contain and Eagle Eye.

Neil Almond has very kindly created a National Ranking for three of the Summer 2023 competitions, 100, 102 & 103. This took a good many hours due to the manual nature of the process, so we’d like to thank Neil very much for his time and effort in making this possible.
We're really looking forward to welcoming all the NSRA Eley competitors to the Lord Roberts Centre this weekend (14th & 15th October 2023).
Here is timetable 1 and 2.
On 17th September 2023 Richard Watchorn tendered his resignation as NSRA Joint Hon. Treasurer with immediate effect.
He had notified the Board earlier this year of his intention to retire and not seek re-election when his current appointment came to an end. This would have been on the date of the next Annual General Meeting. However, in the light of recent health issues he has decided to stand down earlier, a decision made easier by the appointment at the previous AGM of Martin Scrivens as the other Joint Hon. Treasurer.
Richard joined the Board of Management in September 2002 and took up the position of Treasurer in July 2004. His 21 years of service in these roles has been of tremendous value to the Association and has been greatly appreciated by his Board colleagues past and present.
