Scheme Structure
Below is a chart showing the structure of the NSRA Coaching Scheme. Whilst the figures for the approximate cost give a good indication of what you might expect to pay for a course, it must be recognised that the actual costs may vary slightly depending on the venue and other local conditions.
All candidates for qualifications at Club Instructor level and above will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check before the issue of a coaching licence. The check is needed in connection with Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection requirements and the cost of the check is included in the overall course fee. A CRB check will also be required for those taking the YPS Tutor qualification unless the candidate belongs to and will be using the qualification exclusively within a youth organisation which has already conducted its own check.
The course fee will also cover the cost of the issue of the candidate’s coaching licence by the NSRA. Licences are valid for five years. Renewal of licences is on the basis of submission of a log of instructing and coaching activity during the period of the expiring licence.
