The 15th June 2019 dawned with an overcast grey sky and a forecast of rain and a maximum temperature of 16°C. Just the perfect summers day to hold a Great Britain Team Trial and Postal Match. Forty nine of the top small-bore shooters in the country gathered at the Appleton Range to compete for a place in the Dewar Trophy Team.
Places available for Saturday 20th July (09:30 - 16:00).
This weekend sees 49 of the UK’s top outdoor shooters descend on Appleton Rifle Club in Cheshire, to take part in the trial to select the team who will compete in the GB Dewar Postal Competition versus the USA and Commonwealth countries such as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, who often also compete in this prestigious event.
Once again the GB Dewar trialists will meet at Appleton Rifle Club, Stockton Heath in Cheshire on Saturday 15th June hoping to be one of the 20 selected for the GB Dewar Match which will likely be shot in the late afternoon of the same day, weather conditions permitting.
The Dewar Team Match is one of the most prestigious postal matches in the world and is open to teams from the British Commonwealth and USA.
For 2019 the Captain is Keith Ridgway and Adjutant is Mike Arnstein.
The results of the trial will be published live to the NSRA website so that family members and friends can follow progress.
The NSRA would like to congratulate Tom and Abby who have both been selected for the Junior World Cup in Suhl in July. Tom for Air, Mixed Air and 3P. Abby for Prone and 3P.
