Along with our other Winter Competition Entry Forms we are pleased to confirm the Eley is now available online.
Our priority is to try and make up for lost time resulting from the impact of Covid-19. We are striving to offer as many competitive opportunities as possible but of course with a significant number of clubs still closed we can’t guarantee the entry and shoot by deadlines will be to everyone’s liking. We are doing our best and encourage as many shooters as possible to enter. The last thing we want to do is to have cancel any competition as a consequence of low entries and lack of financial viability. We greatly appreciate your support and week by week we are gradually increasing our capability to offer Competitions to our members and supporters.
Your Club, County or Individual Entry Forms for the Winter 20/21 Season. Entries close Wednesday 23rd September and the Eley Entry Form will follow shortly.
We are taking a greener approach so why not use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to complete the PDF entry form (tick boxes, averages and signature), then email your completed electronic form to:
and call 01483 485540 to pay by Debit or Credit Card (Monday to Wednesday).
If you require a printed version of the Entry Forms please email or call and we will post one to you (no printed copies will be distributed with On Target magazine).
Disclaimer: We strive to provide a full calendar of Winter Postal Competitions but ask for your patience and understanding while we continue to operate with a small team. Insufficient entries to leagues and competitions may result in cancellation for the Winter 20/21 season so please get entering TODAY.
Following the closure of entries last Friday, 14th August we are delighted to confirm the numbers for each competition.
We are also delighted to announce RWS are kindly sponsoring the 2020 International Matches and their support has been instrumental in offering free entry for all matches. The partnership between RWS and the NSRA has enabled these important competitions to continue and marks one of our first important steps as we emerge from the restrictions Covid-19 has placed upon us.
Good luck to all competitors and thank you once again RWS.
In recent weeks we have been publishing results on the website instead of emailing them to County Captains. The reason for this is purely and simply a matter of limited resources and the fact that other than Sandra Smith, Competitions Manager, the rest of the Competitions Team is furloughed.
In light of this and to try and assist all concerned the date for Challenges will be moved back to 31 August. Please can you help us by returning your results as quickly as possible in order we can upload them on to the website at the earliest opportunity. We of course will appreciate the co-operation and understanding of all Shooters as we endeavour to deliver the best service we can in exceptionally difficult circumstances.
COVID-19 has had a devastating effect on this Summer’s competition schedule so after adopting an innovative approach with our shooting friends around the world the NSRA are pleased to confirm some of our historic and important International Rifle Matches will still be shot.
As we strive to understand what the “new normal” actually means by applying common understanding and pragmatism sensible solutions have been found which enable us to move forward.
So the teams will be selected from a postal trial to be shot on home ranges with FREE ENTRY. Please follow the links below to find the relevant entry forms.
Sadly in March the Covid-19 Lockdown necessitated the NSRA to close our offices and furlough the Competitions Team. The NSRA offices are now operating albeit with a skeleton team. This has impacted the early part of our Summer 2020 Postal Season and it is with sadness we announce all Summer 2020 Team and Individual Leagues are hereby cancelled.
Summer 2020 Individual Competitions are also cancelled with the exception of the following:
Please note entries close on Wednesday 15th July.
The end of the Winter 19/20 Postal Competitions has been hugely impacted by Covid-19 with many Clubs closing their doors prior to the last day for shooting in leagues and competitions, plus the NSRA Competitions Team were furloughed on 20 March.
All remaining Winter 19/20 Postal Competitions have an extended shoot by date of 31 August 2020. No further extensions or reshoots will be permitted and cards must be received by the scorers no later than 5 September.
NB The shoot by date (31 August) does not apply to the ELEY Competition or County Competitions such as the County Cup or BSA Cup.
We are making every effort to upload Winter 19/20 Postal Competitions results onto the NSRA website at https://www.nsra.co.uk/index.php/results/postal-winter-19-20 Please check regularly for updates as we are unable to email results at the present time. If you do not see results posted for a particular competition then either teams still require the extension until the end of August, or the results are still to be uploaded.
Following lengthy discussions we are pleased to set out our plans for a successful completion to this year’s Eley Postal Competition. The consequences of Covid-19 have resulted in an extensive reassessment as we would normally be at the Finals stage by now. Our priority is to continue and complete the Competition in an appropriate format so with that in mind here are the changes we would like to notify you.
We would like to advise all shooters the “shoot by date” has been further extended until late Summer, the exact details of which will be published by Friday 3 July. In doing so we are taking into account the majority of clubs and ranges are still closed and therefore wish to relieve you of any individual pressure to meet a deadline of this weekend. Please keep checking the website and social media for further updates.

Having monitored the situation regarding Coronavirus and the way things are rapidly progressing, I have looked at the things that we would need to start organising now for the next three major competitions and events. As this would involve considerable cost to the Association and with no guarantee that the events will go ahead, I have decided to cancel the following events:
