2020 was an outstanding year for the Great Britain Rifle Team, who were victorious in the Drew, Wakefield and “Goodwill” Dewar Prone Rifle Matches. The NSRA are determined to emulate this success in 2021. So, if you want a chance to help Great Britain secure back to back victories, make sure you get your entries in soon. The entry deadline of 30th June 2021 for the International Match Postal Trials is fast approaching. Entries can be made online by clicking HERE. All Postal Trials can be shot on your home range or any other suitable range.
The Drew Match: This is an annual 50 metre Prone Rifle Postal Match for Juniors (aged under 21 as of 31st December 2021). The course of fire is 60 shots at 50m. There are three teams, a team of ten, a team of three men, and a team of three women. This year, the Match is to be shot on the athletes’ home ranges. You do not have to be a member of the NSRA and entry for the Postal Trial is FREE.
- The Dewar Match: This is an annual Prone Rifle Postal Match; the course of fire is a Single Dewar (20 shots at 50 metres/yards and 20 shots at 100 yards). The Team consists of 20 shooters and two reserves. COVID-19 permitting, the Team will shoot the Match at Appleton Rifle Club on 21st August 2021.
- The Pershing Match: This Prone Rifle shoulder to shoulder Match, which is usually held every eight years. The Match is shot in the USA; the course of fire is a Single Dewar (20 shots at 50 yards and 20 shots at 100 yards) and is shot on American targets. The Team consists of 10 shooters and two reserves. The Match was last shot in 2013, with the next event planned for July 2022 and is scheduled to be shot at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
- The Wakefield Match: This is an annual 50 metre/yard Prone Rifle Postal Match; the course of fire is 60 shots at 50 metres/yards. There are 10 shooters and two reserves in the Team. The Match is shot on the athletes’ home ranges.
