Provided all competitors agree to their names and scores being published on the Appleton RC & NSRA’s websites the Great Britain Dewar Trial scores will appear if you click the following link:

This will be the first time that the NSRA has streamed the live scores from this prestigious trial. The match results will not be published online until all the teams have shot the match as the scores need to be collated and published by the NSRA.

The trial is shot at Appleton Rifle Club in Cheshire and it is expected that 46 athletes will attend this year. The trialists are divided into 2 squads and the firing points are allocated on a random basis. The top ten athletes from each of the squads (A & B) will be selected for the GB Team.

The Dewar Trophy is “the oldest and most renowned International Postal Competition” and was first shot in 1909. The record for the highest individual score in the Dewar match since the introduction of the 1989 targets, with a bull equivalent to that of the ISSF 50m target, is held jointly by Neil Day (GB) and Olympian Mike McPhail (USA) with 399. Maybe someone will score the elusive 400 this year?

The Ron Wood trophy is presented to the competitor with the highest score in the match itself. New members of the team are awarded GB Dewar Team badges and GB ties/scarves are also available.
