Press Release 25 July 2020
Covid-19 has changed the landscape for every business, organisation and charity and as a consequence we have taken the decision the Lord Roberts Centre will remain closed for the foreseeable future. In doing so we take into account the running costs of reopening, the additional cost of making a large, complex building Covid Secure each time it is used and the duty of care we have to our staff. It is also right each employee has been sent a personal communication to this effect in advance of this press release.
This decision, however difficult, also offers the best prospect of eventually securing a long term viable future for the Lord Roberts Centre. In the weeks and months to come we will adapt our business where necessary and continually monitor the situation so when the right opportunity presents itself we can scale up our operation based of course on public health advice at the time and financial prudence.
You will have also seen in the last few days we are planning to host the Kempton Park Classic Arms Fair on Sunday 23 August. The reasons for this are very straightforward.
- It is an entirely outdoor event so therefore Covid Secure with all the necessary social distancing measures in place
- It provides a vital income for us at this difficult time
- Finally it will generate welcome footfall through the NSRA Shop which remains open Thursday-Sunday 09.00-15.00
So please understand this is a very difficult decision we have taken but with the future in mind at its heart, specifically when considering the interests of our Members and Clubs, fellow Shooters and our friends and staff. Your support and understanding at this time is more valuable than ever. Thank you.
