While Coronavirus continues to shape our daily lives the NSRA Board are now meeting fortnightly to ensure planning is in place to move quickly when decisions are eventually taken to ease lockdown restrictions.

The Board has recently been strengthened by the co-opting of Professor Matt Guille and Robert Dowling and will next meet via WebEx Conference Call this Friday, 1 May. Although working on a purely voluntary basis Board Members are lobbying the BSSC, Home Office and Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden about the impact Covid-19 has had on NSRA Clubs and Members and the implications for FAC renewals and fees.

The majority of NSRA employees have been furloughed including CEO, Iain Root. Chairman John Lloyd commented, “We are particularly grateful for the support of all our employees and Members at this difficult time and as a Non-Executive Board we are doing all we can to ensure Members and Affiliated Clubs emerge from Lockdown in the best possible shape to continue their passion for Shooting.”

A further update following the Board Meeting on 1 May will be published next week, including clarification about extending the validity of NSRA vouchers into 2021.
