Understandably a number of clubs have contacted the Association to seek opinion in what they should do in terms of opening. The impact of Coronavirus on sport in the United Kingdom has been considerable at all levels from elite sport to community based activity. As a National Governing Body we have been monitoring the situation, Government advice and the Prime Minister’s briefings and have made a decision about what we should do in relation to NSRA facilities.

The Government has advised everyone to avoid all but essential travel and that social gatherings should be avoided particularly groups that are deemed to be “vulnerable” or include vulnerable people. We believe that clubs should follow this common sense approach. We all need to act in the public interest at this point, something which I highlighted in our earlier statement concerning the closure of the Lord Roberts Centre and Aldersley Shooting Centre. I am sure you will agree that this is the most prudent action at this time.

As further advice and guidance becomes available we will share this with you.
