The NSRA has identified that there is a need to review and probably amend the direction it is taking if it is to guarantee its longevity. A decline in the number of members and affiliated clubs and competition entries has necessitated this review.
The review will be part of a multi stage process throughout 2018 which starts with a series of workshops being held over the weekend of 27/28 January 2018. The Association is asking for individuals to put themselves forward to be part of this first stage review of both the Membership Structure and the Structure of Competitions and Events.
Individuals interested in being involved must be available for both the Saturday and Sunday. Reasonable accommodation, travel and subsistence costs will be covered by the NSRA. It is hoped that a wide range of individuals will want to be involved and it would be useful to include those who are individual members of the Association and those that are not. Similarly it would be beneficial to involve those that enter any of the NSRA’s competitions and others that don’t. A broad church of those that support the Association and those that are critical of it will ideally be involved along with those that have ideas about how things could be done differently. Places will be limited to approximately thirty five and anyone interested in being a part of the workshops should send a message to both
The closing date for applications is Friday 5 January 2018.
A steering group for the weekend is being lead by Mike Arnstein and includes a number of other volunteers. They will consider the applications and invite people to attend the workshops during week commencing the 8 January 2018.
If anyone would like further information or discuss potential involvement contact with Mike Arnstein should be made via his email
It is clear that the Association has a large number of committed and appropriately qualified and experienced members covering a wide range of topics and business. It is the intention to establish a Business Development Group in 2018 to identify ways forward and explore anything that comes out of the multi stage review process that will be undertaken. Anyone who would like to be involved in the Business Development Group should also indicate this by sending an email to the NSRA Info email address also summarising their background and what they feel they could bring to the group.
