There were some really encouraging performances by our Paralympic Team last week in Chateauroux, France. It was great to see two silvers, one bronze and a Games quota place secured at this first major World Cup of the Paris cycle.
People may recall the efforts that Lesley Stewart made to get the last Tokyo quota at the Peru event during Covid, and now she has secured the first quota at the start of this cycle. We understand that this is the very first quota secured by a British athlete in any sport for the Paris Paralympic Games.

Sixteen athletes from the Pershing squad and supporters group gathered at the NSRA West Midlands range at Aldersley on a wet Saturday 18th June. Friday the 17th at 31°C would have been more ideal in mimicking likely conditions at Camp Atterbury, but by Saturday the heatwave had turned into a “coldwave” with temperatures of 14°C.
The squad were on good form and the top scores were a mix of 1600/1599s. Simon Green shot the only highest possible score 200-20x at 50 yards and ended up with a score of 1600-136x tied with Ken Bowley. The tie was broken using the total number of xs at 100 yards, 151 to Ken’s 149.
Congratulations to those athletes from the 2022 Great Britain Dewar Team Postal Trial who have qualified for the Shoulder-to-Shoulder Trial.

Twenty athletes and two reserves will then be selected to represent Great Britain in the 2022 Dewar Match.
