James Miller took up pistol shooting as a Scout in Epsom and went from strength to strength.
James is GB No. 1 Junior, culminating this year in a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he represented Team GB at the Youth Olympics - ranking 9th in the world in 10m Air Pistol. The Games providing valuable experience and potentially a stepping stone to greater achievements.
James has been British Shooting’s National Schools Pistol Champion for the past two years and holds two British Junior shooting records amongst other significant accomplishments.
His nominator put him forward not only for his achievements, but also for the way he acts; coaching, supporting and mentoring other pistol and rifle shooters to reach their full potential.
James' interview with BBC Surrey is available via podcast www.bbc.co.uk/sounds where he talks about positivity, camaraderie and the discipline of shooting. We hope James' story will be an inspiration to others.
