Urgent Notice to All Club Secretaries

Please be aware that unless you have correctly completed and returned your club re-affiliation paperwork for 2016, your club will not be insured. We are unable to make any exceptions to this ruling as our underwriters will not accept claims made if the correct paperwork has not been submitted and received at our NSRA offices.

Please note that if you have already submitted your renewal paperwork, your club will be covered by our insurance, providing this is complete and correct. Any slight delay you may experience in receiving confirmation of your renewal is due to the Christmas / New Year break and the resulting volume of work we have to process.

To avoid unnecessary telephone calls and if you have yet to send in your renewal paperwork, please refer to the letter sent to you in October 2015, detailing the relevant forms for completion, the information required and the club renewal fee payable for 2016.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding during what is for us a very busy time of the year.

If you need another copy of the forms, all 2016 membership forms can be downloaded below:

Northern Shooting Show — 12th & 13th May 2018

Promotional Opportunity for Clubs

The NSRA are pleased to support the Northern Shooting Show which will be held at the now well established venue of the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate, on the weekend of the 12th and 13th May.

The NSRA will be exhibiting in Hall 2 again this year, so do make a point of coming to see us when you visit.

Paul Whitelam, the organiser of the show is offering a new opportunity this year for clubs who wish to promote themselves at the show. Clubs may take a free table to display their materials and banners at no charge.  Interested clubs should contact Paul in advance to confirm they wish to attend on: 01472 809727, or via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Note that club representatives should be available to man their stand during the two day event.

NSRA, Lord Roberts' Centre and Bisley Sports Wholesale Ltd. will not be contactable by phone until around 9:00am on Monday 19th February due to a major upgrade of the telephone system.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The British Open Airgun (BOAG) Championships are being held from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th April 2018.  The Pistol Airgun & Crossbow Committee (PACC) have agreed that there will not be a separate Pistol meeting in 2018, while they undergo a review of all the events which have previously been offered at the Pistol Championships. Therefore BOAG has been moved from the traditional month of February, to take advantage of the warmer weather and increased daylight in April, to additionally hold four air pistol Championship events on the outdoor 25 metre range.

We are aware of rumours that BOAG may be cancelled at short notice, and both PACC and the NSRA would like to reassure both entrants and potential entrants that this is not the case.  Entry forms have been available to download from the “Competitions - Entry Form” section of our website for the past two week, and now the programme has been completed and is also available.  We are grateful to all of you who have shown support for this event by entering early, and look forward to further entries over the coming weeks.  The closing date for entries to this event is Wednesday 15th March.

A major upgrade of the NSRA/Ltd/BSW  computer and telephony system means that the NSRA telephone system will be unavailable, for incoming or outgoing calls, from 2pm on Friday 16th February. The service will be restored from 9am on Monday 19th February.

We apologise for this inconvenience.

The NSRA Shop and The Lord Roberts Centre will be open as usual during that weekend but without, of course, any telephone or email access.

If you have not yet completed and sent in your NSRA Club re-affiliation forms with payment for 2018, we would urge you to do so without delay.

Please note; if you do not re-affiliate, your clubs insurance cover will expire at midnight on the 31st December 2017.

If you are experiencing difficulties in completing the forms for any reason or you have mislaid the paperwork, please contact Member Services on: T: 01483 485503/02. E mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you have already completed and sent in your Club re-affiliation forms for 2018, thank you and welcome to another year of NSRA affiliation.

The Home Office has opened a public consultation on what they consider to be "Offensive and Dangerous Weapons". This includes plans to apply further restrictions on .50 calibre and MARS (Manually Activated Release System) rifles which are currently for target shooting.

The policy intends to remove the availability of these Firearms for civilian use suggesting they may be used for terrorism. The proposed changes will raise them from Section 1 of the Firearms Act where they can be held on a normal Firearms Certificate to Section 5 and so effectively banned.

We are understandably beginning to receive enquiries from NSRA Affiliated Clubs regarding the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which comes into force on the 28th May 2018.

The detail of the regulation is currently being considered by the NSRA, so that the best advice can be communicated to all members as to the implications and recommended actions required.

Should any member wish to access further information at this stage we recommend the following link:

The Browne Martin Competition is open to club teams of five competitors from any NSRA affiliated club within the area covered by the Home Counties Coordinating Committee. Clubs may enter any number of teams.

Entries close 1st November 2017
