The latest changes to NSRA Rules and Regulations came into effect on 1 April 2015. The principal change affecting clubs and county associations is the re-instatement with different conditions of the ability to demote shooters to a lower team in the same league.
The new arrangements (Rules 7.9.5 and 7.9.6) allow the averages on which the demotion is based to include estimated scores from previous rounds in the same league. However changes are time-limited and cannot take place earlier than round 4 or later than round 6.
Other changes approved by the Shooting Council on 21 March 2015 include a re-wording of the rules on eligibility to shoot for teams representing county associations (Rule 3.3). This has not changed the basis of eligibility as being solely on current residence but during the Shooting Council's discussion of possible additional options, all of which were rejected, the opportunity arose to improve the wording of the rule.
A number of other small changes were agreed. Rule 5.6.3.1.1 (Pistol tie breaking), which had been worded incorrectly for a considerable number of years, was corrected. Changes to rules 1.2, 2.3.5, 6.11.2 & 6.11.3, 7.7.3 and 8.5.1 were made to bring them up to date or to improve clarity.
